Lauren’s love for dance started at a very young age. She took her first class at the age of four at Burlington Dance Academy and joined the competitive team when she was nine years old. Lauren mainly trained in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Open, Pointe, and Acro. During her time at BDA Lauren completed many Cecchetti Ballet examinations and won a variety of overall awards and scholarships at competitions. Lauren has graduated with distinction from Western University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Majoring in Psychology and Minoring in Dance. She is grateful to have had the opportunity to continue her dance training throughout university. Lauren joined Western’s HEAT Dance Team in her first year of university and was a captain in her fourth year. She is thankful that both HEAT and Dance Essence have allowed her to grow as a choreographer with many of her pieces going on to win special awards, overalls and choreography awards. Lauren now attends Western University’s Faculty of Education. She has always had a passion for teaching and working with children. She couldn’t imagine a better job as her love for dance and her love for teaching are able to complement each other. Lauren loves to share her passion for dance with her students and watch them grow into confident dancers but more importantly good people.
