Serena began her dance Journey at the age of three when she started at the Errington Graham Dance Studio run by Lilliane Marleau Graham daughter-in-law of Martha Graham. There she trained in a mix of RAD and cecchetti style ballet and did exams with the Western Conservatory of ballet. Serena trained at the St Thomas Gymnastics Club for 5 years before she began her journey at Studio Dance Pointe. Serena danced at Studio dance for 11 years where she trained in Ballet, Acro, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Tap & Hip Hop. Over the years she worked with guest choreographers such as Jordan Clark, Mitchell Jackson, Dani Matte, Tamara hers and Skye Mattox. Skye Mattox helped Inspire and develop Serena’s love for Broadway Jazz & Musical Theatre. Throughout High School Serena did choreography for Dance Pointe as well as her High School Musicals Footloose, Grease, and Alice in Wonderland. After graduating Serena went off to join the Ryerson performance dance program in Toronto where she studied under Vicki St.Denys, Tanya Evidente, Lourdes Hernandez, Karen Duplessie, Louis Laberge-Côté, and Paul Moody . In 2017 Serena performed in the Parados Festival that took place at Ryerson where she danced choreography from Arsenio Andrada who also is an afro-cuban style dance teacher at the school. After suffering a knee injury Serena took some time off from dance and decided to pursue a new career path in Special Events Management and after graduating from her program she decided to move back to London to start her career and get back to her roots of Dance by teaching for us at Dance Essence.
